FEATURES OF LOGITECH G PRO X

Unboxing of Logitech G Pro X

Logitech G Pro X packaging has always tended to have a clean look to it, and with the PRO X keyboard packaging, it is even straighter forward and simple.

On its cover we receive the reflective image of the keyboard with the logo of the brand and the name of the model. It also presents the keyboard certificate in Spanish format and the type of switch it has incorporated: GX blue clicky.

On the sides we have the technical specifications and logos of some of the E-Sports teams that Logitech uses in their equipment.

On the back we can read the slogan Play to win along with some strong points with a reflective black finish:

The contents of the box can therefore be summarized as:

When we open the box, the Logitech G Pro X receives us inside a transparent plastic wrap and when we take it out we will find the rest of the components underneath.

Logitech G Pro X Design

The Logitech G Pro X is a keyboard made of plastic and ABS keys. It weighs 898g and has an untextured matte black finish.

On the sides, it is plastic, it has a more intense black color and it is reflective along the entire edge of its base.

It is on the right side where we can see the name of the Pro series printed in a matte gray color, and it is together with the image that is in the upper area of the keyboard the only element that reveals its Logitech brand.

If we turn it around, we see that the Logitech G Pro X consists of five non-slip rubber mounts. This reverse surface features a diagonally grooved texture with a bas-relief.

In the central label we have the Logitech image, model name and some additional information such as voltage percentage, amps and quality certificates.

Switches

We move on to the highlight of the analysis: the switches. The peculiarity of this keyboard is that they are not soldered to the chassis, but if we buy a model (blue, for example) and after some time we want to change, there is no need to buy a new keyboard. Instead, we can buy a switch pack of the desired color and exchange it for the original.

Logitech offers its original GX switches in the three most popular variants:

The Cable

Returning to the cable factor, Logitech G Pro X brings us a fiber braided cable with a length of 180cm. Its two sockets consist of a USB type A and the connection to the keyboard through a micro USB with a reinforced grip to avoid unwanted disconnections.

Putting Logitech G Pro X Into use

Its format makes it an extremely handy model like a good TKL, and the key stamping has a consistent thickness that greatly facilitates its readability. However, if we use it without lighting, reading them is quite difficult unless we work in an environment with intense lighting.

The reinforcement that we have for the micro USB seems to us a success since it makes us have to make a certain effort to disconnect the cable. For many who are suspicious, this information will be a guarantee that even if they move their keyboard on the desk, the removable cable will not go away. The bad aspect of this connection, however, is that it is located in the rear central area of the keyboard. This means that we cannot change the position of the cable under the structure for another one that is more favorable to the distribution of our desk.

Regarding the keystroke, many of you are familiar with the Logitech GX switches. The range developed by the brand follows the premises set by the prestigious Cherry MX. Its main difference is that depending on the model the travel of the Logitech switches is slightly shorter, but requires a little more activation force.

Illumination

The Logitech G Pro X keyboard’s RGB lighting is individual per key and has a very good peak intensity. This, added to the thickness of the screen printing on the molds, gives the keys an unbeatable presence and clear reading.

When we first connect the Logitech G Pro X, the default light cycle is automatically activated. As we previously noted, the Logitech imagery in the upper left corner joins the party of lights.

We can also observe the illumination by means of white LEDs of the sounders on the activation of capital letters or scroll lock. The game mode lock is also white, while the button that controls the intensity of the lighting is part of the RGB cycles.

Software

We come to the software, and it is that if we talk about lighting, macros and others we cannot avoid talking about Logitech G HUB. This is one of the newest programs from Logitech and features a simple, elegant and efficient interface.

This software has many panels to configure but maintains a neat interface to make things easier for the user.

We mainly have three main options:

conclusion

The Logitech G Pro X is a keyboard simple in design and functional as a whole. Its TKL format makes it a compact keyboard, although we will not be able to count on extras such as the wrist rests. The lighting is excellent and the Logitech G HUB software seems 10 to us both to establish macros and commands or associate the execution of programs such as Discord to specific buttons.

Bottom line: Is the Logitech G Pro X worth it? Yes, definitely. If you want a high-level gaming keyboard without a numeric keypad, this is undoubtedly one of the best choices.
