Fortnite Season 7 Leaks | Graphics on PC Will Be Boosted

As the countdown for the next season shortens, the number of Fortnite Season 7 leaks increases.

With the launch of this new season, there is a lot of new content to expect, but one of the more unexpected changes for the new season is Fortnite PC graphics.

Fortnite Season 7 Will Included Updated Fortnite PC Graphics

Epic announced that the launch of Fortnite Season 7 would see the release of some updated PC graphics. For the most part, this will mean that players playing the game on computers will enjoy improved and upgraded visuals overall, but only in certain scenarios.

For one, it is worth noting that these updated Fortnite PC graphics will mainly affect the players who are playing on the Epic and/or High settings for the battle royale title on PC. If you are playing one of the lower graphics settings than these, you may experience many changes.

For those machines that are running the higher settings in the game, you will enjoy enhanced effects and a variety of other improvements throughout the game graphically. At the launch of the new season, you will be able to set your Fortnite PC graphics to Epic and notice these changes.

The changes will affect both the main battle royale section of Fortnite and all of its various game modes, plus the Creative mode for those who like to build their islands or play someone else’s. It all starts with the different features and effects that you can find in the game.

How the Epic Graphics Setting Will Change

So long as your quality presets option is set to Epic, you will find that the Fortnite PC graphics changes include improved effects for the clouds in the game and the storm that everyone is trying to get away from in the battle royale matches.

There are also changes to the smoke and liquid portions of the game, meaning that you will end up with better-looking explosions, fire, and slurp effects from the shield potions and the like. Shadows will look immensely better as well. There will be improved post-processing for the bloom and lens flares.

Much of the explosion effects come from the new generation of consoles, which launched last year, with the PS5, Xbox Series X, and the S. Those new versions included various graphical improvements like better explosions. Those are finally coming to the PC version.

However, there are some issues with this in the requirements department of the PC version of the game. The heavily improved effects and Fortnite PC graphics will mean that there will be changes to how the Epic settings option works from now on in Season 7.

Requirements for Epic Setting Will Change

The requirements for the PC version of the battle royale game are going to be a bit harsher from now on, ensuring that players will need to meet them to take advantage of the new changes to the graphics. That said, this is mainly there for the Epic high settings option.

If you are using the medium or low settings, you will find that the PC requirements for your system will remain the same. It should not affect you in any way at all in the new season. This is because there are no major changes to these Fortnite PC graphics settings, only for the Epic option.

At the same time, the performance mode that we have talked about in the past that has been great for systems that do not run Fortnite that well will remain the same as it has been. That will continue to be a great option for those players playing on lower-end devices.

But the High settings option will be changing as well. While it will not benefit from the major improvements that we have seen for the Epic setting, it will change to become the new Epic. Those players who could only play on the Epic setting will now want to switch to the High setting.

If you can play on the Epic setting, you can keep playing on this one and enjoy the latest improvements. With these changes come some new preset specifications for the Epic setting. These are not replacing the official recommended specifications, but they are necessary if you wish to benefit from the new changes.

The new preset specifications include the following updated requirements if you wish to take advantage of the changed Epic setting fully:

  • Nvidia GTX 1080, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, or equivalent GPU
  • 4 GB VRAM or higher
  • Intel Core i7-8700, AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, or equivalent
  • 16 GB RAM or higher
  • NVMe Solid State Drive
  • Windows 10 64-bit

These requirements are a bit harsher and more specific than the recommended specifications, with the requirement of having 4GB VRAM or higher instead of only 2GB for the recommended specs. That said, they might be worth it for those players who wish to have the best visual experience possible in Fortnite.

While this new season will see the updated Fortnite PC graphics, the release of Fortnite Season 7 is not. However, when we see the switch for the battle royale title to Unreal Engine 5. It has already been made clear that Epic Games is switching the game to that new engine sometime this year, but we still do not know when that will happen. We expect it will result in some insane changes, so stay tuned for more details on when that will happen soon.
